2026 Quicksilver Boys

Thread to discuss 2026 boys Quicksilver…

Are rosters normally published?

They have posted rosters in the past, but it was voluntary. Some clubs did post their rosters, some did not, and others would post rosters only for certain age groups. So far I haven’t heard anything about rosters this year and am thinking it is doubtful.

They have posted rosters in previous years, at least for the 18u age group. It is in the club and athletes’ interest to post rosters for recruiting purposes. I assume that rosters will be published this year as well for this age group.

There appear to be some last-minute changes in the participating teams. Trojan 18u was initially listed but has since been removed from the roster. It’s unclear who replaced them.

Rosters, some haven’t submitted yet: LINK

Sand Canyon seems to be the team that replaced Trojan. I think that change was a couple weeks ago though.

Any recommendations from locals on a good venue to watch the World Cup game today (1pm) with good food, crowd , and TVs in the Newport area?

Chat gave me this shortlist:

  1. Stag Bar + Kitchen — best young/loud crowd
  2. Helmsman Ale House — best lunch + patio balance
  3. The Place, Corona del Mar — best patio/TV setup
  4. Mutt Lynch’s — best beach/outdoor vibe

Many thanks!

It is actually closer to CDM (but not far) - Mutts Eastbluff had a lot of people (and good beers) for the World Cup games during SuperFinals.

Depends on what you’re looking for. The Quiet Woman in CdM could be a good place to meet certain target demographics.

Never been, presumably not eponymous?

For those nearer to Buena Park (18s boys play today at Servite and Buena Park HS), Rock & Brews has lots of TVs and is hosting WC watch events.

Any other age group Rosters floating around out there?

14 U - Route 66 beat La Jolla - Was that La Jolla’s A Team?

The La Jolla United at Quicksilver Cup in 14u Boys is La Jolla B.

What about SD Dons? They lost to North Irvine.

14U - NorCal 6 Newport 13 - Nice win

12U boys news:
North Irvine beat Vanguard to take 1st in the bracket.

Mission’s cap #2 was back in their games.

18u game of the day was Mission vs La Jolla. Back and forth the entire game. Mission for it done in a shootout, 10.8-10.7. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this matchup in a couple of weeks with a lot of the line. Very entertaining game today.

A lot of surprises at 12u

CDM beating Stanford

San Clemente beating North Irvine

Also Mission beating Vanguard no surprise there but the big center was not play now we can understand why they have a poor performance.

Overall what a fun tournament!!!
