2026 Quicksilver Boys

12U boys:

Game for 1st is Dons vs Mission

Should be a dogfight.

Game for 3rd is San Clemente vs CDM

This will also be a good game between two scrappy teams!

Logistics complaint. Why on Sunday after a 4 day tournament are we paying $35 to see one game. A day pass on the last day is not a ridiculous thought. On principle I refuse to pay and will watch from the outside fence. Stop the Sunday fleece

Who won MVP for the 18u boys?

Congrats to CCU, Where all the top teams at 18s?

Agreed they should offer a day pass.

But the smoke tunnel, player announcements, full stats collection, and player-of-the-game for every Sunday game were really exceptional.

Which games had full stats? Where are they published?

12U boys at Marina HS was doing all day even in bottom half of bracket. Nothing online afaik but read them out over PA system end of game and boys could look over the sheets. First time most of these boys have ever had full stats kept of their games.

The final top 10 18U rankings were:
CCU
Mission
La Jolla
North Irvine
Greenwich
San Diego Shores
Imperial
CIU
Long Beach Shore
Diablo

Not a single team went undefeated. CCU lost to Imperial 13–10 in the group stage, although I’m not sure whether they played with their full roster.
Greenwich and CIU were missing their 18U World Championship players. Mission played with its 16U World Championship players, who will not participate in JOs.

Overall, there were close games between all of these teams.

it was a great tournament and very well organized. The boys loved the production at the Servite HS pool, including the music, smoke screens, and player introductions.

My son said that JOs seem antiquated compared to Futures and Quicksilver.
I do think the competition from private enterprises is outperforming the public utility, USA Water Polo.
Junior Olympics feels like a big, chaotic water polo carnival rather than an elite national championship. The three-games-per-day structure at the 18U Platinum level should be restructured. No elite-level athlete should have to play four straight days with two to three games per day. Even by the last day of Quicksilver, the players looked sluggish, were much slower, and the games were played at a much lower energy level.

10U Boys placing

  1. Newport Blue
  2. SD Dons Red
  3. Commerce
  4. 908
  5. Newport White
  6. Temple City
  7. San Clemente
  8. Socal

JOs could use some tweaks to make it better, but the jumbotron with instant replays last year was a very special/cool experience. As was having the officials on colored carpet and a good announcer during the game. Admittedly these are only things you get in the game for first at Woollet.

Who got the awards for the 18u boys?
