Santa Barbara and Mission were definitely a cut above the rest this weekend and a lot of that is attributable to their depth. While other teams were hanging by a thread by game 4 or 5, these two teams looked fresh. Lots of 1 and 2-goal games between teams 3-8. Special shout out to SHAQ who played a 3-day tournament with just 1 sub and managed to finish in the top 8. Showed a lot of guts.

This was the last tournament of the year that will feature complete rosters. Of the top 10, I believe Santa Barbara, Stanford, Regency, and Patriot all lose eligible 16u players to the cadet worlds team this week and beyond. The cadet worlds team will compete as a group in the 18u division at USCC this coming weekend and will be absent from JO’s. It will be interesting to see how that affects standings.
