I don’t. The organizers of Elite 8 would have them if they kept accurate scoresheet records. It would be exceptional if they were made available from Elite 8 or South Coast. Again my perspective on SHP play at South Coast is first hand but anecdotal.
Frankly, I think you look to good coaching and talent of players before any claims of ref bias.
A way to beat SHP is around the perimeter with sharp/aggressive ball handling and player movement.
Very impressive showing by Santa Margarita in North/South as they take 5th. DLS finishes 6th. Championship game coming up — I’ll take Cathedral to win 9-8.
Oaks focus today seemed to be on long term player development and getting the younger guys in after losing in the quarter finals. Smart move for the long run!
Congratulations to Newport for winning the North/South tournament for the second consecutive year. They seemed motivated to avenge the loss last weekend and looked sharp offensively.
Newport had a fantastic game, what seemed like a motivated team beat down vs CC, securing another trophy for the season and putting to rest any doubts about their strength in the pool.
Thanks to Joel Francisco who may have set the record for announcing the most water polo games over a three-day period and to SHP for livestreaming the games at no cost to fans.
I would also like to thank Joel for his commentary. He is so complimentary to the schools, the players and the coaches. He has done his research and knows all of the players and their background. He truly brings a refreshing broadcasting experience and is a pleasure to listen to.
The score sheets were completed with high accuracy which is exceptional. They don’t even do this for the big D-1 college tournaments. Every HS tourney including South Coast and Elite 8 should take notice.
Yes, Joel absolutely CRUSHED It! Can even commentate well while eating a burrito. I don’t know how he does it, but what a IRONMAN of commentating with no breaks literally. He’s the GOAT!
