Very controversial call. Don’t think you can call that a brutality given the circumstances and considering he was underwater.
Well there it is. VAR and Hooper is done for the game and we play man down. This is just all too familiar
Tony forgot to mention another lesson that Vargas probably taught him…
“The person who retalitates is the one who gets caught”
What a shame. Going to be a tall task to win now
+1. US again getting suckered into both being stupid and getting caught at it when other teams get physical. This is a long-term issue for our men’s team. Not helped by the amount of holding that referees in this Olympics are not calling, which is a huge disadvantage to a player like Hooper, but high-level players need to deal with the game the referees are calling and roll with it. I thought that call could go either way–but putting that decision in front of the referee is not smart polo.
Good to get out of that down only 3 goals. Gonna be hard to catch up without Hooper.
And even if we do we won’t have him in the semis…
USC vs USA - lets go USA
Huge goal by Luca getting them to within 2
Good end to the half for the U.S. Also start with a 6 on 5 as long as we win the sprint. If this goes 5-4, it’s anyones game
Maybe with the physicality the Aussies are bringing we can get them into foul trouble and make a run late.
great job to end the half
US looks tight, thought Daube would rip the 5 on 4 where he was wide open
this low score favors Australia but with foul trouble mentioned above ^^, we have a chance
Well maybe the Aussies are going to just shoot themselves in the foot. Taking the swagger too far and refs are trying to get this back under control.
That head butt after the offensive foul at center should have been an exclusion. If refs are going to call the stupid retaliation fouls, they’ve got to call them when they are obvious.
Let’s go Adrian! What a save!
That save and goal feels like a real momentum shift.
4 Aussies including Pavillard and Power with 2 fouls. Bowen and Obert for US, I think.
I am not usually a ref complainer, but how was that hold from behind not a penalty? Obvious, above the water, player not holding the ball, ball in front of him and right in front of goal.
No kidding. Almost criminal the no call there. Very inconsistent officiating in this one. Refs are in over their head.
The American defense Is coming up huge. It’s been 15 minutes since the Aussies last scored.
Hallock picks up his second right there at the end.
This fourth quarter is going to be tense and physical. 8 minutes to get a chance to play for a medal.
