2025 Men's World Championships

The men’s world championships start next week in Singapore. Each team is allowed to have 15 players. Some interesting selections for the U.S. team, which is in the weakest of the four groups.

Interesting that they only took one center (Brown)… I recall them trying this before Obert came back and it was rough. Would have liked to see Castillo or Schneider against the worlds best CDs and get that experience

We finally going to see a motion offense from the US?

Interested to see how Connor Ohl does. Seemed like he barely played at u20s. Was he injured?

He was not injured. Not sure why Kocur chose not to play him.

I saw on Hallock’s instagram that he’s starting B-school at Stanford. I hope that doesn’t mean he’s retiring…

Is anyone else without sound?

Man USA’s bracket is weak. No disrespect to Canada or Brazil but both games were brutal to watch. If we had Hallock, I’d say our chances to medal would have been decent. Italy, Serbia, Spain, Croatia, Greece all brought their A teams, no key players missing.
Does anyone know where the other countries games are streaming? Looks like only the USA matches are on Peacock.

Italy beat Serbia by one in penalties, so I think US will play Serbia in cross over. Tough match.

Yikes. Easier group definitely means tougher QF. That will be a tough one to win.

US loses to Serbia with moving offense attempt it seems . Play Croatia in 8-12 crossover!

Correction 5-8 place with Italy and Croatia

I just watched the game, actually surprised it was as close as it was. USA had no center game and were playing against the same exact Serbian team who won gold in Paris. Funny thing was this game was the closest game out of all 4 QF matches.

Who was playing center. All I see are a bunch of center defenders on this roster. Hard to imagine they lacked in center play. We better hope Hallock isn’t retired for 2028.

Can’t understand why Castillo and Schneider weren’t on the US team for this tournament.

Watching a bunch of utility players go into center and thrash around has been frustrating. They never seem to hold a position or look like they are actually ready to receive the ball. It’s like making a field player play goalie. There is actual skill that hallock and other centers bring to the table-all of which is missing in this team. The most exciting center at national team was McFarland, followed by miller ( both LAAC players) Where are they??? It does not seem like a good long term plan to try and make center D’s play center when they don’t play that position for most of the year in Europe. A couple of weeks of practice cannot make our center D’s into viable centers. Serbia had 3 centers on their roster-and we don’t have one-and it showed. My buddy played in Europe-where we are sending all of our players-and he says it’s a very position centric style of play. None of this utility crap.

I can’t remember the tournament, but we sent just Hallock as the only center and it was a disaster. You need 2 true centers on the roster. They had one on this roster, who I don’t know if he is capable or not, but it doesn’t look like he suited up for the biggest game of the tournament? I don’t understand that one bit.

There are number of centers they could have picked from, the LACC centers were pretty good and some from the U20 can draw exclusions, fives meters etc. coulduse the expereince maybe. The coach took a different route, hope they get a few wins now.

Final Stats from U20 tournament. Stats don’t lie. Looks like Dejan forgot to watch.

I feel like Hallock will be gone for at least 2 years from the National Team. I bet he will return a year out from LA 28 like Cupido and Hooper did last cycle. We need another dominant center regardless though.
