There is a USA Water Polo exemption for this situation. Players who are 19 but part of that year’s graduating high school class may still be eligible for 18U JOs with USAWP approval.The intent is to avoid penalizing athletes with early birthdays during their final summer before college.This has come up a few times over the years so it is not unusual.
