Here is the schedule for Patriot Games Winter:
Seems like a stacked tournament with a lot of the top teams there. Let’s see who came out of the winter break in good shape.
Does anybody dare to send predictions? I will put mine down on Sunday.

It’s the same weekend as the ambiguous ODP thing……..14u boys highly affected. 12u probably missing some key players. 10u should be fully rostered
All of the top 14’s will be at ODP and many clubs top 12’s will be there. This would have been a great tournament but now it’s let’s see would has the top B Team. Greenwich probably isn’t affected so they should be a full strength. Thanks ODP for the short notice.
Definitely the case for Stanford 14s, they are essentially bringing their B team. Stanford 12s are also missing 2 key players for the same reason.
My prediction for 12u is SoCal.
A group I think is up for grabs.
B group is totally up for grabs especially if Stanford is missing kids.
SoCal wins C group. Mission will be missing two starters.
Which 2 starters on Mission are missing? Where is the ODP list published, or is this some other inside info?
I have a 14u that was invited. In that email was the invite list. There are 2 mission 12u that were invited. I don’t know if they committed to go or not, I assume they will be going to ODP
Ok I said I was doing predictions so here they are! Always proud to be dead wrong in public ![]()
10u Division
In the October Patriot Games we saw a clear separation in the field between Newport, Del Mar and Patriot, with Patriot being the third team. However, looking at the past couple tournaments, I believe Patriot played in 12u and 14u divisions. The Patriot coach is insane so I’m sure he didn’t take those losses easy.
I am marking Patriot 1, Newport 2 and Del Mar 3. This is without doing much 10u watching so far this season.
12u Boys division
I’ve been following this more closely this fall. I think any of the A division teams can beat eachother, especially considering ODP players missing. I’ll trust in Cyrus at Del Mar. 1. Del Mar, 2. SoCal, 3. mission
12u girls division
14u Boys division
This will be greatly impacted by ODP, which is why I put Greenwich at the top.
Why? Vibes.
14u girls division
Tough division to judge. These teams will be fully stacked, but haven’t truly all competed yet.
Please let’s discuss!
In 12U there is no way I would seed Mission 3rd given their tournament results. The only reason I can think of to put them where they are seeded is to get a matchup with SOCAL. Interesting move to guarantee a matchup. If I were seeding the brackets by results it would be Mission, Del Mar, SOCAL. Based on all available information Newport as second seed seems bonkers, are they going to show something here that is unexpected?
No clue why they’re seeded like that man… I personally would’ve placed Newport and Patriot in the bottom 2 in this division but I’m not the one making them😂
New seeding happened fast! Is San Diego WPC coached by Cyrus with all the old Del Mar squad? Glad to see them competing if so.
They are likely to be shorthanded as I believe four of their 12u A-teamers are at ODP.
They’re listed as “San Diego Dons Water Polo Club“ in the USAWP database
Greenwich 12U was a step above today. Congrats to them for beating Mission twice in one game (where there was no clock and no scoreboard).
I think in that division Greenwich, Mission & SoCal were the top teams today. Looking forward to Greenwich vs SoCal in the last game tomorrow.
Interestingly after beating Mission, Greenwich lost to both SD Dons and Socal. Waiting with bated breath for @Marco rankings for 12U, not sure how one might translate this recent data into rankings.
I do think that Mission losing #7 in the first period had an impact on the outcome against Greenwich, sadly losing that first game meant that Mission only played easier teams (Stanford 10 point differential and Newport 6 point differential).
Greenwich was the only team to play SoCal close all weekend which adds to the interest.
Socal definitely knows how to handle SD Dons. Against Socal they didnt look at all like the same team that played Greenwich earlier. Only reason I could come up with is that perhaps having limited practices due to club drama left them tired.
Agreed, and similarly: at Winter Classic, Dons/Del Mar lost to Socal 12-6 then beat Vanguard 15-4. Socal ended up losing to Vanguard in that one 9-6 and then barely beat Greenwich in this one.
