Is anyone on the scene at Pacific that can give a weather delay update? Overnight just has a weather delay notice up for UCLA-Davis game.
Weather delay is over. UCLA is up 8-6 on Davis to start the second half. We are about two hours behind on the schedule it would appear.
UCLA wins 14-7. Watched the entire second half. Really impressive defensive performance by the Bruins in holding Davis to one goal. Even with a lot of key guys missing, UCLA was pretty clinical on offense.
San Jose State over Pacific 13-9. Brendan Gyapjas was just incredible. The Spartans started their backup and were down 9-6 at the half. They brought Gyapjas on for the second half and he pitched a shutout (while also scoring an empty netter).
Team USA over USC 12-9. USA controlled the game from the second quarter on. This tournament is my first time watching a lot of the players on the US team. Kaneko is absolutely fantastic and Suarez Abraham was very good in the cage. Team USA really played a good team game in this one.
Fordham-Stanford now in a weather delay. Rams are up 7-5 with 2.59 left in the second quarter. Salipante has been their key player. Has three goals currently.
Looks like there are a lot of centers missing. Does USC even have a center? Stanford barely has any
The radar does not look promising.
Agreed. A number of key players missing from each team. uSC looked particularly thin.
Lots of players overseas for world aquatics
For those watching the Pacific Cup, Fordham-Stanford restarts at 11:00 EST/8:00 PST.
Fordham over Stanford 16-14. Fun way to start the morning.
San Jose State over UCLA 11-10. It will be SJSU-Fordham for first place.
USA YNT over Davis 18-11 for fifth place. Watched almost all of this game. Team USA was impressive all weekend. You can make an argument they had unfortunate luck drawing Fordham in the first round as they were worthy of a higher placing.
I don’t follow high school so this was my first time watching all of these players. Kaneko, Black, Anderson, Coleman and Tucker all jumped out along with the goalie Suarez Abraham. Great team and happy they were in this tournament.
12-11 UCLA for third place as they held off a late Stanford comeback. Szeczi had a natural goal out of two meters to give UCLA a 12-10 cushion. Forer hit a five meter to make it 12-11. The Cardinal got the ball back but UCLA held on during a 7 on 6 to claim victory.
Fordham wins the Pacific Cup over San Jose State 11-6. Toth, Provenziani and Salipante were great all weekend. Kojic is a huge addition and it showed in this tournament. I thought DuPuis played well in the cage over the three games and Thorson/Tresa did a nice job in two meter with Eppel out.
Congratulations to Fordham on winning the Pacific Cup! They beat the teams that finished 2nd, 4th, and 5th this weekend. Scored 45 goals in 3 games. Played their entire bench to give everyone some solid minutes. A good weekend all around. They should be optimistic about next year.
Thank you U of Pacific for hosting this unique pre-season tournament and for flexibilty through all of the wx delays. Overnght coverage was great. Commentating was excellent all weekend and fun to see rest of the team’s rosters get to play with many of the Seniors gone and many overseas for national team(s) duty.
I’ll second that. The Overnght coverage was excellent. I ran into no issues, and the commentary and picture were super clear. Going to keep my subscription running to support them.
