I agree, especially now with prize money involved. I understand once the final standings are set I am sure you have to stay on 1 team, but why not lock it in from the start?
I dont have any issues with guys doing Youth and Open, that is great for those kids to get a little bit of playtime with their future team. I believe by week 3-4 most will tot be allowed to play for the college teams due to NCAA rules.
I believe they may since college teams are clubs in NL but not certain. They did last year. I agree with you about the youth players. It is the non youth players on multiple teams that feels off.
This is great dialogue. I hope I can clarify for everyone:
- Players - specifically youth - playing with USA B or YOUTH teams are allowed to be double rostered. Tom Davis outlined this during the interview this week on WPW Podcast
- Players who are from SJSU, Pepperdine and UOP will NOT be double rostered unless their school club teams are playing as exhibition and do not count for standings, which I believe Pepperdine does but not sure about the others.
- Players may move rosters, I think the limit is 1x, prior to weekend 3. After weekend 3, no transfers can be made unless under extreme circumstances which is determined by the NL board/admins.
Thanks for that! So Brenden Gyapjas and Samuel Keightley and Samu Biros will not be playing for Spartan in the north conference and Apostolos will not play for Big Valley?
That’s what it sounds like.
Not unless Spartan and Big Valley are exhibition, which we are not sure who is and isnt at this point.
This should yield more consistency and appropriate team alignment throughout the league.
There are some good 18U matchups this weekend or are there? looks like some teams have seniors playing and some don’t. would be easier to tell if 18u rosters had class year listed for each player. lol
The norcal rosters aren’t out yet but Conor Ohl looks like he may be on 4 teams which may be a record! NYAC, Nat Youth, Newport (18U), and Stanford. Busy busy!
There will be plenty of seniors that will be double /triple rostered especially from top high school programs if they are allowed to play for their college club teams. 4 might be a record.
anyone having website issues on Overnght this morning?
Edit: working now. Carry on.
Edit:Edit: No it is not.
Thats too bad. I would be pretty upset if I just bought a subscription to watch my team play. Not sure what happened but anyone can stream through devices and hot spots nowadays, so this seems like a miss for a company that does this as their business. I am sure wifi from the facility would be helpful, but shouldn’t be required
Sorry overnight is not optimal! No smart tv app! Poor camera work! Even in a shootout the camera was in wrong end of the pool! Have to play on phone or computer and air play to tv? Step it up overnight we paying for it, make it good!
Couple good games today! Fight on had two close games with Laac and a shootout over LMU, that was a pleasant surprise! Fun games to watch.
There is an app for Apple - AppleTV I believe.
Guess I need som tech assistance. Also replay icon sound is way louder than announcer needs to be more balanced. Just in case they are listening here.
What needs to happen is The Waterpolo Communoty needs to make a deal with a single standalone streaming provider. Instead of 3 or 4. Then they need to funnel monies to seed and support the standalone by giving it the Capital to create an app, an advertising team and announcers. Then take that to the high school’s clubs, colleges and leagues and USA WP. The latter should not run it as they are conflicted.
I was impressed with the 18u SoCal Division at National League this weekend. There was a handful of teams that really stood out. Unfortunately, many of the top athletes were playing for USA Youth and USA B in the open division. Probably not feasible, but it would be nice to have the Open Division play on different weekends so we could see the 18u full rosters.
