Just saw redid D3 again. Can’t believe all of this mess.

I was able to watch a couple of tournaments. Mater Dei and OLU are the most well-rounded teams with quality depth. Mater Dei has the advantage on talent at both center and attackers while OLU has the advantage in experience.
Newport is intriguing with a solid combination of seniors and quality up-and coming underclassmen, but they don’t have the firepower of OLU and Mater Dei.
Oaks Christian has a stellar starting line-up with skill and youth as well. Will be very good next year. However, they don’t have the depth as the Top 3.
Next, I would put San Marcos, yet it’s a coin flip with Oaks. Both. are evenly matched with quality attackers and utility-types
Long Beach Wilson and Foothill would be next. Barry O’Dea will have his girls ready and they have a stellar senior 1-2 punch with. CeCe DeLuca and Catherine O’Dea. They to have some really promising underclassmen as well.
I like Foothill’s junior goalie (D1 ready) and their two lefties are good. The junior Rowe is coming on as well.
Should be some good games.
From the games that I saw this year, I agree with JFranPolo. MD, OLu and Newport are just too deep. I just do not see any other team getting past them. There are some great individual players on the other teams, but just not the depth. I will go with OLu winning it all. Robinson and Cohen have missed quite a few games this year, but I am betting that they have the experience to put it all together down the stretch.
Any other score updates?
Newport beat Wilson 12-8
Oaks Christian beat San Marcos 11-6
The final score was 11-7 for Oaks
Oh okay, max preps has it wrongly inputted then.
That is a solid win for Oaks Christian.
Also tonight: Olu 13 - Foothill 4
MD 10 - CDM 4. It’s too bad San Marcos doesn’t have a goalie.
Yes it is. Having a goalie changes a lot. In a similar fashion foothill played without their goalie today and put a field player in goal. She did pretty well for never having played goalie. Had the starting goalie played the score would’ve been closer imo.
It’s tough for sure since Bethany, who plays goalie most often for SM, is also a strong field player (Academy) who they miss in the field when she’s playing goalie. I don’t think they were beating Oaks tonight, even with a goalie.

Here we go, we have what is effectively the 2 CIFSS Open Division semi-finals today: Oaks Christian vs Mater Dei and Newport Harbor vs Orange Lutheran. Do either Oaks or Newport have it in them for an upset? Here’s to hoping for 2 competitive games.
Anyone know if they are streaming the semis?

Nfhs is streaming the game. Oaks and MD in OT. MD had a 2-3 goal lead most of second half, maybe even 4, but the lefty for Oaks went off and they tied it up late. Excellent coaching on both sides
MD in regular was playing very well offensively but couldn’t get a stop late, and now in OT their defense is solid but their passing and ball control has been poor. 1:30 left in 2nd OT
Oaks 12 - MD 11 final in OT
Kocur coached a great game IMO. All his TOs late resulted in a goal it felt
MD could’ve tied with penalty late but goalie made big clutch save
