How does Futures handle double rostering?
for example, (use CCU just because they have multiple teams at every level):
can CCU 18s ‘A’ boys also play on the 18s ‘B’ team roster?
can CCU 16s ‘A’ team boys also play on the 18s ‘B’ team roster?
can CCU 12s ‘A’ team also play on 14’s ‘C’ team?
Double roster within the same age group? 18A/18B, No. Double roster between age groups? 12A/14B, Yes.
usually you cannot play on an A and B team in the same age group on the same weekend. You can go from B to A one play week to the next but you cant play on both teams in the same weekend. However if schedules allow, I am certain you can play on 16’s and 18’s. In Socal they are usually separate weekends.
Hypothetical for Futures:
Some club has a 18u A and B team, the A team is assured a top 4 finish, but the B team has to win their games to qualify for Super Finals / avoid dropping to lower division.
Could the club put the A team players on the B team roster (and vice versa) to assure both of their teams succeed? (and club’s prestige remains unblemished)
I have definitely seen teams monkey with rosters to prevent relegation. Usually it’s bringing down guys who were playing at a higher age group for the challenge games.
yes but they would have to choose the team each weekend. I have seen bubble kids go both ways but never starters on the A team going down to the B team.
