18u girls futures field looks really good . Going to be great matchups. SoCal and Shores is in futures? Don’t they help run Uscc as well ?
Yes I believe it may be a couple other clubs too. I want to also say CHAWP, but not sure. Many pools used are in Corona area.
As far as I’m aware Cal Cup and USCC was formed and run by CHAWP, Socal, and SD Shores.
When Futures (then Ironman) formed, a lot of clubs stopped doing Cal Cup and USCC. Socal and Shores stuck with it for a while, but eventually their A teams switched to Futures for good reason - better competition.
I am not sure of the current arrangement between those three clubs and running present-day USCC, though they seem to all still support each other and are on good terms.
Anyone more in the know please correct me or add on.

In addition CHAWP has a very cheap (free?) multiyear lease on Corona-Norco Unified pools hence they usually host. Someone in another thread said USCCs were in San Diego a few years back but in the girls side back for 10 years I think they’ve always been Corona or at least the IE. The bracket spreadsheet files get reused and overwritten (!) so it’s hard to go back and verify.

So no pool cost? On a 2 course pool (4 teams that paid $1200 each for 6 games max, $200/ game) that is $800 per hour not counting paying the refs (less than $100/hr).
Yes USCCs, on the girls side, were in San Diego once, but only one year right after Covid. San Diego county apparently started allowing outdoor sporting events before Orange County, so they held it down there, but other than that it was always in IE and OC
Regarding your last sentence - not sure if that was specific to girls. But USCC for boys was definitely held in Lamorinda territory at least once and I believe LA as well if memory serves me correctly.

Hearing it is $30 for the weekend for those at San Diego pools this weekend. Keep in mind Coronado is also hosting NASCAR this weekend so not sure how traffic and parking will go if you’re there.
I know on good information that those 3 clubs are on very good terms. They are 3 of the longest running clubs in general. Those 3 clubs have been able to remain relevant for many years. Shores lost some momentum but appear to gaining strength again. SoCal has to do something. That club is a shell of itself. In my opinion them being where they are is not good for the game. I think the boys are good still, but the girls outside of 18s are just not that good.
CHAWP appears to be making a surge. They had 3 teams place platinum for their girls (14s, 16s, 18s). I don’t think they’ve done that for a long time. The 14s are a surprise. They may not be at the level of Newport, Patriot, 908 but they are definitely a decent little team.

Yes they are all in good standing. I think commerce is in that group as well. I was just noticing that three of those four clubs participate in futures. Doesn’t this affect seeding throughout the summer for junior Olympics ?

Not in the least. Seeding based on last year’s results.
On another note about USCC. I was informed that years ago when it was developed it was broadly marketed to get the best talent in pools together and that also meant adjusting game times. Is it true that USCC introduced 7 minute periods over 5 minute periods that JO’s allocated (my understanding is they have adjusted). If so, that’s huge. Adding a total of 2 more minutes of a period could be catastrophic for some teams. Something noticed at SD cup was 5 minute periods. You basically have to come out “guns a blazing” for lack of better terms. That can be a weak point for teams that may need more time to warm up or are not as conditioned as their opponent. Does Futures go 7 minute periods?
USCC looks like a very strong field in the 18u girls. Should be good quarter final match ups.

Futures is 6 min periods for 12U, 7 min for 14U and above. Same as JOs current durations.
