Just wrapped up yesterday. Anybody see any of the games? Any surprising results?
Since Sailor’s Cup coincided with NTSC for girls, I am sure there must be some surprises, as many girls teams were probably missing quite a few of their better players. Probably fewer surprises in the boys brackets, right?
Kind of interesting in the 14u girls platinum bracket Newport placed 4th (many girls at NTSC). Maybe it leveled the playing ground with all the teams? full disclosure, I was not there nor do I have a 14u girl. Boys 14u results look interesting too.
The most interesting thing to me in watching 12u, was the difference tank size made. At SD County Cup, it was all small tanks with goals bungeed to the walls and two refs on the same side. Sailor’s 12u Platinum was played at Estancia with a crosswise petite tank and a lengthwise main tank.
Some teams that looked formidable in the SD County Cup small tanks really struggled in the big water, and vice versa.
14U Boys - CIU looked pretty dominant. Del Mar looked like they were missing a player or two. Patriot looked like they had full roster playing but had close games against Palos Verdes 6-5 and Newport 10-9. did anyone see these games? Didn’t see Mission play but they looked much bigger out of pool - have they added new players?
