And the coaching carousel begins again!

Michigan gets Vidale, now leaves an open head coaching position at Marist.

He was offered the position at Brown last year before Marist was able to make an offer to have him stay. But it is hard to say no to a Big 10. Really happy for him and looking forward to seeing what he does

Have heard great things about Chris from his former players. Fantastic hire for Michigan, should get them back to being a consistent top 10 team

Awesome hire! Chris is everything you’d want in a coach - passionate, knowledgeable and treats players with respect.

Fantastic hire

Rumor is he was offered Brown last year but declined. Maybe was holding out for Michigan.

This is an amazing match on so many levels.

I’ve praised Chris as a coach on another thread about strong coaches, so Michigan is getting a great one. He puts just as much effort into personal player and program development as he does coaching. Match that with the resources and reputation of Michigan, it’s a winning combo.

On a personal level for the Vidale family, this is also a homecoming of sorts as Chris’ wife (Betsy Armstrong) is a native of Ann Arbor and still holds records at Michigan as their HOF goalie.
