National League 2025

Is there a way to check the NL/Overnght viewership ?

Team play > individual talent

Varga nearly led them back though

Looking like the same for this UCLA - NYAC game (4-1)… maybe spoke too early, one goal game at half

Mission over NYAC 15-12. Mission and OClub in the finals tomorrow at Mt SAC.

LAAC was bad defensively. Also a lot of sloppy passing. Varga took this spring vacation gig very seriously- huge respect. Filip was clearly not in form.
Still it was good to see him play in person.

Mission vs NYAC was a good game.

P.S. what kind of genius scheduled NL finals on the same weekend as MPSF, Big West, and Golden Coast all have conference championship within 60 miles radius of Mt. Sac- I do not know. But the attendance was very underwhelming.

The stream was well done. I hope they get big crowds today.

No varga in the final game?

Impressive undefeated NL season for UCLA. Olympic club almost came back and won. They continue to be the gold standard for post college water polo clubs.

Although there were some shortcomings for National League champs, I would like to give a big hat tip to the organizers, the @waterpolowednesdays team and all those involved. Its easy to armchair QB how to make things better, its a lot harder to put in the time and energy to execute against a plan.

I look forward to next years champs and hope they can build momentum on the groundwork done.

polofan,

I agree. I am grateful to the organizers.

The attendance was too low. And it is mostly on us, the fans, to support events like this if we want the sport to grow in the US. This is a classical “you can lead a horse to water but…” thing. Would it help to have the NL finals during a different weekend - perhaps. Would it dramatically change things- after seeing so many empty seats on Sunday, I am not so sure…

I agree with this sentiment. Its on the fans. Did not help that it was the same weekend as NCAA conference championships.

That said, the energy and excitement at the pool was quite enjoyable. And although attendance wasnt as high as anticipated, it was WAY MORE people than I have ever seen at a NL Championship weekend. This seems to be a step in the right direction.

Was really bummed to not see Denes play the 3rd place match against NYAC, but it was still a fantastic game. I heard Denes was injured in the O Club match.

Anyone know what happened to all the games that were up on Overngt? Most historical games appear to be gone.
