Article says he is taking the LMU job
I can understand the return to SoCal, but this seems like a strange move and doesn’t come with a sense of permanency, imo.
Maybe a first step to taking control of the men’s program as well?
I thought maybe he was up for it 2 years ago. I can’t see LMU moving away from David anytime soon.

Shocking, especially with the season starting this weekend.
Given his history at UCLA, have to wonder if he was a finalist for the UCLA women’s job, and maybe the bug to come back to SoCal through that process won out.

I will say it’s unfortunate from an east coast perspective.
I agree. It is tough for Princeton because you know they could have held a real coaching search and gotten a number of high-quality candidates. That is a great job. You feel for the players as I cannot remember the last time (if it has happened at all) where a coach of a top ten caliber team resigned the weekend the season is starting.
If Dusty was a finalist for the UCLA job I am a bit suprised that he did not get it. I agree that James Robinson looks very promising but, in my eyes, Dusty would have been a more perfect fit for one of the most prestigious coaching jobs in the country.
It makes you wonder whether Princeton will remain be in the top 10? Maybe this season but next season with recruiting? Any names come to mind of replacements?

Dusty Litvak’s era in numbers: You can judge for yourself how much of an impact a coach has. One variable I did not include is the post-COVID environment, which may have benefited programs such as Princeton, Stanford, and other Ivy League schools. Academic considerations, combined with the test-optional era, likely contributed to the rise in international players at programs with high academic hurdles for recruits. In 2017, just before Dusty took over the program, there was only one international player on the team. By 2024, there were seven. The recruiting job and flexibility are more challenging going forward.
Probably a good move for him (or he would not have done it), but horrible for the kids at Princeton.
This is by all accounts a step down but I’m curious if anyone has heard if Dusty had a different vision for Princeton polo vs the athletic department or simply wanted to come back to California, regardless of the coaching position
