Interesting dichotomy between Greenwich winning by 35 points and teams handing SD Dons the automatic win.
Wonder when SPA will come out.

The seeding call is tonight so I would imagine itâll be right after or tomorrow morning depending on how long it takes for discussion among age groups
35 points was the game differential.
This Weekend (Fri-Sun) NEZ older ages. Girls 14U-18U & Boys 16U-18U: LINK
I just checked the allocations. All 6 NEZ 18UB team get spots. The Midwest has 5 18B platinum spots, the same as CCA and 2 more than PSW! MTN still with 8 total spots that theyâve proven they canât use and give to other zones. 8 spots, will they have a qualifying tournament this year? All of this is questionable.
Iâm on board with having 1-2 championship spots per zone then making them earn more spots from success at classic and invitational.
That seems very rational. It seems to me that since USA WP could put together a database of teams (including rosters) and their attendance /performance at sanctioned events then it would be pretty easy to swag allocations that more closely match the depth of each zone and age group.
Posts on here indicate that anyone can immediately tell relative skill in just a few minutes so any zone that has less exposure due to travel costs could submit a quick video and/or some objective measure like 6-8 challenge to support getting additional spots.
Perhaps this would all be too much work for age group sports that are making millions of dollars⌠![]()
Has anyone seen SOPAC?
after seeing the futures seeding, curious to see SPAâs seeding for JO Quals. is it being released today?
SPA,SOPAC,CCA⌠weâre all on pins and nnedles ![]()
Ladoes and gentlemen, guys, gals and, non-binary pals put your hands together for THE ONE AND ONLY⌠SOPAC schedule
Many 12U coaches held their breath last night until their faces turned blue to bring you these brackets.
Was looking at the Pacific Southwest quals for this weekend and noticed quite a lot of teams âopting outâ of playing certain teams. Specifically in 12u and 14u boys. Is this a typical thing you see every year? Or just a tactic for better placement? Seems odd to see that much of it.
I donât know if it is typical but I already noted that it is in stark contrast to the north east where teams got pummeled (due to lack of competition).
I think the important takeaway is that USA WP should take notice. If a top team in a region has 1) 30+ point differential or 2) everyone in the zone so scared they forfeit, then they should adjust Championship allocations as such. If I ran the show a region with either of those conditions gets 1 spot in Championship since the region demonstrated they have no parity to top teams.
Edit: Regions that donât hold quals should get zero spots and have to submit video and/or other evidence to support spots in Championship. Their allocations should drop to Classic automatically. I would not want to fly to CA to lose every game. Even spending GoFundme money. Chamionship should be the best teams battling for top spots and highest level of competition available.
Can someone compute the hours spent by families driving out to Corona/Norco for quals, the amount the organizers save from cheap pool, and then compute the $/hr that the organizers are effectively taxing parents?
After the second day of the Northeast Zone (NEZ) qualifiers, the 18U boys and girls concluded their matches, with the younger age groups starting their games. On the boysâ side, Greenwich 18U B&G secured the first spot, followed by CT Premier and United (a statewide super team from Pennsylvania). On the girlsâ side, Asphalte Greens claimed the second position, while Norco secured the third.
This yearâs CT Premier team is the East Coast version of Olympus, an amalgamation of talented players from five states: Connecticut, Ohio, Illinois, Florida, and New York. Additionally, two internationals, one from Hungary and the other from The Netherlands, flew in to participate in the qualifiers. Both players are currently in the pipeline or National Team (NT) of their respective countries.
Greenwich played with an incomplete 18U roster and utilized 16U players. The first-place game ended with a score of 19-10. I am uncertain whether this is the first time these players have played together, but it is likely that they will gradually gel as a team, I can see a substantial upside.
The NEZ for the 18U JO allocation is 3/3/2. Consequently, all the top three teams will advance to the Championship. Greenwich, seeded 11th, and CT Premier, seeded 21st.
I think you need to expect pools to the east when CHAWP is the organizer.
Premium tax rates for the Friday games into traffic where the high seeds will blow out low seeds across the board.
99% of all games being in Orange County but still gotta gripe about that 1%, lol. I understand what your saying but you gotta throw a bone here and there.
Great (and accurate) info regarding the match up between Greenwich and CT. For more context, the CT team had never played together and it showed on 6 on 5/4s. The game was tight through the middle of the second quarter but then Greenwichâs experience as a team shined through. About half of CT players are Juniors (i.e., rising Seniors). The CT team (minus some key players) will play together again at Futures and JOs.
