For 14u girls, see: JO Quals Schedules - #113 by crazycatlover
Does anyone have the CEN zone JO quals sheet?
The SWZ Zone JO Quals start today. Does anyone have a schedule for it?
Or CCA since weāre asking ![]()
Coastal doesnāt appear to have finalized locations, much less schedules according to the Zone website.
You Rule! Thank you so much!
This weekend is JO Quals for Midwest and NEZ Youngers. Has anyone seen the schedules?
Full NEZ schedule (both weekends): LINK
Just received this.
There were some results there that surprised me. Granted, I donāt get to see these teams a lot, but I did get to see Capital 14u put a beat down on Pegasus at Florida Intl back in February. Pegasus is coming out of SWZ as the top seed in 14u boys. If Capital is 7th seed out of NEZ, how strong is NEZ this season?!?
The Greenwich A teams appear to be dominating the competition with an unprecedented level that I donāt recall in the past. Their opponents, on average, score only two or fewer goals per game against them, while the Greenwich A teams have managed to score over twenty goals in each game. YPRO 12U looked competitive.
Not sure what to think about seeing 12U and 14U teams running up 25-30 point wins. College and above I get.
Does anyone know if Greenwich 14u was at full strength at San Diego County Cup a couple weeks ago? They hung in there against some solid teams, but didnāt come away with any eyebrow-raising wins.
I donāt know man. Sometimes you play teams that canāt touch the level of your team. In those games you go hard the first quarter and then set up and run plays or ask for something specific like 5 dry passes before you can score. But if a team just isnāt even close to being on defense, what do you do⦠not score the rest of the game?
Laguna Beach 14U girls squads of mid 2010s would go left hand only and took it seriously. Made the game instantly competitive and everyone still got value.
Iām not sure how qualifiers tournaments are structured, but goal difference might be a factor in breaking ties. However, what if the level difference between any opponents within a 2000-mile radius is substantial? Perhaps they should start playing only with their heads? Another option is for coaches to decide to give the first seeds to a dominant team, which would create a more competitive tournament.
