LJHS also took Jserra to OT… Very capable team
SB has regressed a lot since 2022. It’s a normal score differential between those two teams.
yes it matters, to what extent that is the question. Since it is unknown and no one can explain it each coach or AD determines what a good point spread should be. Buena 13-1 over SB probably could have been 30-1.

And this is what thefosh.net had to say about the Campolindo vs Jesuit 20:8 game:
“In a tightly contested match at the Jesuit Classic Invitational, the Campolindo Cougars and the Jesuit Marauders ended in a 0-0 stalemate. Both teams exhibited strong defensive strategies, successfully preventing any scoring opportunities throughout the game. The match was held at Sacramento’s American River College, drawing an eager crowd of supporters from both schools. With no goals scored, the focus shifted to the exceptional performances by the goalkeepers, who remained undeterred under pressure. Ultimately, the match highlighted the competitive nature of the tournament, making for an exciting, albeit scoreless, encounter.”
Sports writers are saved from AI replacements for one more week, at least.
I don’t know about that, but there are plenty of 13-6 games that started 5-0 and could have ended 25-2 but don’t. Not every coach approaches player development the same way
DLS crashed the center hard all game and Miramonte perimeter game struggled to take advantage. Miramonte also had low conversion rate in 6-5 situations. Miramonte trailed much of the game but pulled even late. DLS goalie had a good game and Miramonte goalie had a nice 5 meter block late.
Great energy at that game. Some Cal players were there.

Southern regionals are not going to feel anticlimactic this year!
Do you know if the game was livestreamed or if there is any way to watch it?
Thanks for posting. Great win for CC. Here are my observations after watching the video:
- Why such a long break at halftime?
- Newport seemed to have gone away from their usual heavy rotation, using multiple lines and depth. They scored only a goal in the 3rd quarter and a couple in the 4th, and they seemed out of sync. At such a high level of polo, it’s hard to play four quarters with only a few substitutions.
- The Dons had constant rotation, especially playing such tough defense, giving the starters fresh legs.
- Did Newport miss their set?
- The Dons played great defense, forcing outside shots from bad angles.
What a game! Great win for CC! These two might face each other again next week at North-South.

Who was the missing Set?
That’s unfortunate. This past week of games was fun to watch. I hope they haven’t gone to ground, but if they have and watching Cathedral Catholic do their thing becomes rare, I’d still like to put my thanks out there to David for this past week and the years before that.
This is a good lesson to not share other people’s videos.
