High School Boys Scores 2025

Why are several players ineligible for JSerra?

They have several incoming transfers in the Sit Out Period for CIF. That ends next week.

Who are the transfers who are going to be eligible to play ?

Bishops 17 Valhalla 15.

Probably the wrong thread, but…

Looking at Maxpreps and they have Righetti and Alameda ranked very high. I know it’s early and things will change, but does anyone know anything about either of them?

Not sure how a new goalie helps JSerra too much this year. Their current one is pretty darn good.

Ronan Keane (SO)–right-sided attacker–will probably be in the starting line-up and Cal Ulicny (SO)–gifted lefty–will provide depth off the bench.

CDM 14 - LB Wilson 10

Great play all-around from Mira Costa seniors Grant Anderson (goalie), Lucas Pearce, Kai Nelson, Flynn Guenther, and juniors Salim Salah and Jameson Greenstone.

Jeff when is the last time Mira Costa beat Harvard-Westlake?

Thursday, 9/11

Foothill 13 - Carlsbad 7

Likely was the first time

I asked Bill Prichard, the ultimate authority on CIF Southern Section water polo, whether Mira Costa has beaten Harvard-Westlake in boys’ water polo before yesterday’s game. Here is his response.

'I have tracked Harvard-Westlake’s won-loss records very carefully since 1992, when they emerged as a premier division program. Mira Costa has never beaten Harvard-Westlake during that time. My records show that Mira Costa has given Harvard a few good regular season games, but Harvard always prevailed — winning 6-3 in 2001 and 10-6 in “2020” (played in March 2021 due to Covid). They have met only once in the post-season — and Harvard won then also, 11-6 in a 2018 SoCal Regional Division I quarter-final match.

“How about 1991 or earlier? Mira Costa first produced a playoff team in 1961, and Harvard in 1973. So, there is a 20-to-30-year period when Mira Costa could have beaten Harvard. The schools are 28 miles apart, so it is possible they played each other semi-regularly. Mira Costa produced particularly strong teams during the 1970s, so it seems likely that Mira Costa would have won those meetings if in fact they took place.”
