Xander Trevitt is a huge pickup for Redlands. Another example of turning down multiple D1 advances/offers for a great DIII program.
PP continues to build a great team with these class of 25 players
Emerson LaPorta, Long Beach Poly — Pomona-Pitzer
Jaydon Courtney, OHS — Pomona-Pitzer
Kai Takeshi Inoue, a member of the 2024 Japanese Olympic team at age 17, USC
Big pickup will strenghten the right hand side of pool as he is a dynamic lefty.
The kid lived in Irvine for several years till the age of 13.
Inoue has dual citizenship. Quite the water polo family. One of his brothers played for Mater Dei and UCLA and his sister played for Hawaii.
Harrison Siegell- Rose Bowl and John Burroughs HS- Pomona- Pitzer
Another terrific class for Pomona Pitzer. Nick Grandinetti is a versatile talent, Jake Lee is the prototypical glue-type player who is mentally engaged all game, and Jaden Winters had a breakout senior season for an ultra-talented Oaks Christian team. Big upside for Winters to.
@JFranPolo - I truly appreciate the delightful array of complimentary adjectives you use to describe the players. Even though I may not be familiar with the players, your sincere and thoughtful observations about their abilities resonate deeply.
John Plaschke, Sacred Heart and Atherton: Pomona-Pitzer. Remember there is still Ed2 and Regular decision left in this years admissions process. It looks like if you have goods grades and are struggling to sign with a D1 school , this may be the spot to go.
And no roster limits.
Correct. However as of right now PP has 34 on roster for next season (29-5+9). I have no idea what Arod is going to do but this is the most loaded team they’ve ever had (or since the Sasaki era).
Though no roster limits, there might still be some cutting. Rumors of a slight trim incoming, but nothing major.
It will be interesting to see offball. If you look at last year’s roster there were 5 Juniors but that class, the year before was 8 so 3 players opted to not play this year. I think as the talent level keeps going up with his 2029 class you may see some natural attrition.
no “Grinders?” ![]()
Surely, there’s one.
You will find this on many teams. Even though D3 is “less intense” and more academically focused. Some have trouble with the academic rigor combined with water polo. Some find they don’t love riding the bench but doing all the work. But they did achieve getting accepted to a great school.
Jeff what sources did you hear this from?
Jeff protects his sources or they dry up!
