In all seriousness, these kinds of gifts are going to be critical for the “top” programs. However, it’s clear, as has been said here from the outset, that in a post House vs NCAA world, self-funding for Men’s Water Polo (certainly at the D1 level) will become the norm.

Correct. This gift was just to endow men’s swimming & diving and men’s water polo programs. Men’ and women’s golf and rugby were recently announced as fully endowed.
Great news for the Cal program.
