So tired of all of these rules changing, not changing, changing for some, some colleges opting in, others opting out.
Coaches/recruits have to be wondering who is in, who is out, will they be allowed to play. It’s not easy on anyone.
Also, if they go with the 5/5 rule:
Career records are impacted. Not just in polo, but all sports. Guys and girls (maybe) getting a 5th year will have impacts on the record books.
What is the rationale for allowing a 5th year?
I hope that they get this straightened out soon. It is not fair to the coaches, players or recruits.
How about making it simple: you get 5 years to play 4, starting with the academic year right after your high school graduation, or your 19th birthday, whichever is more restrictive?
