Last year Session 1 schedules came out less than two weeks before the start of the JOs.
Last year girls schedules, came out about 1 week prior to the Thursday that they started playing

Google Sheets version isn’t working yet. Hopefully they fix it today.
I posted this elsewhere but it should be universal. When opening a one drive excel file, right click or hold (on your phone) and choose to open in another tab. That can get around the login issues with one drive.
That trick doesn’t work when the link has been updated to a personalized link, which the forum software does automatically. To post a OneDrive link in the WPEX forum, you have to create the link manually to prevent the forum software from rewriting it.

I am going to take a shot at the 14U Day 2 Bracket Grouping since seeding does not really reflect the teams.
The below teams will win their day 1 pools in my opinion. Just for fun
M Bracket
Newport
Santa Barbara
Greenwich
N Bracket

Santa Cruz
Chawp/680 (I think Chawp)

Do not count out San Clemente, CHAWP, or SD Shores black to do well despite no tournament success this year. Why? They are three teams who didn’t lose a single player to worlds, and some even got stronger by adding in players.
908, Patriot, Lamo Newport all got weaker due to losing their best attackers/goalie.
Notably, San Clemente got stronger. Instead of losing a player, they added a Greenwich attacker who transferred clubs for the summer. Solid add.
As a result, everything is condensed, and those teams are likely to surprise and beat all the other teams except for probably Newport of course. I know that San Clemente hasn’t won anything this year or finished on the podium in any of the big tournaments, but with this addition and not losing players, they are primed to breakthrough now as their competitors got weaker. 
Probably makes sense.
P.S. I saw 680 with a new player at the JO quals, fomerly from Greenwich (?). With her, they might have a chance to beat CHAWP. A decent attacker.
Yes, I saw that player too, and I think it will make for a good game. The even number JO years are really fun if you look at it from that perspective. The top programs always lose top players and it allows for more parity at the JO’s.
It does seem like Greenwich players jumped to California teams this summer to compete with San Clemente and 680 benefitting
You never really can predict this age level because a lot of drama can happen and with all the changing rosters and a lot of of one or two point differentials, the only team I feel safely saying will be there at the end is Newport as a runaway 1st place without much of a challenge. Whoever finished in second third fourth fifth etc. is anyone’s guess and as brackets go, sometimes the 2nd place finisher would lose to a 4th place finisher. And the luck of who has to lose to Newport in the semi finals.
This is one of those years where any team can finish 2nd-8th and it would not be a surprise.
Would not be shocked if the Dons were able to upset LAMO given the goalie loss for LAMO.
With a “stench of elitism”, as some CHAWP supporters put it at a related thread, I would say that, during the even years, 14u girls JOs is very much a preparation for the high school season, at least for the better NorCal players.
P.S. With the current losses, Greenwich could be bumped down to the 13-20th after Day 2, and, yes, Lamo might loose to Dons.
I absolutely think the Dons can beat Lamo. It really depends if Lamo got a guest goalie or not and if they can contain their attack in a close one.
Like it or not, JO’s 14U for the top players in even years is about getting in Cadet worlds and preparing for the high school season.
It is far more important and memorable for the kids to play for their high school team in CIF than a club and 14U is the bridge. The best 14U players don’t want to play a bunch of games against 6th and 7th graders.
it’s still fun. Some would say it’s more fun to enjoy the balance at this developmental age.
The most fun is in Classic and the gold division finales. Those parents are also 10x more into it than platinum.
SD Dons only lost by a goal to Lamorinda at Futures Superfinals 5-4. Lamo had the world’s goalie playing that game.

Yes, I for sure didn’t mean it as an insult and I don’t think anyone here did. I specifically gave them a shout out as a team to watch and hope that they continue to build for next year too
I would not be surprised if SD Dons or Lamo emerge from that day 1 pool and I would not be surprised if 680 or Chawp emerge from their pool.
All these girls have a lot to be proud of and it’s great to see so much interest in the sport

A comparison point are games:
- Newport 16u vs La Jolla 16u (A i assume, don’t see B): 18-7
- Newport 16u vs La Jolla 18u A: 10-9
(Newport 16u vs La Jolla 18u B: lost count Newport was leading by 10+ and playing 2nd, 3rd line, so not a good comparison)
Newport 16 looked like missing entire 1st line to Newport Invitational
I asked La Jolla crew if they are missing someone material and did not get a good answer.
Why this is a comparison point?
PSW JO Quals La Jolla 16u (2nd in zone) played 2 games vs Daygo (1st in zone). First game was 10-10 with Dayjo winning on shootouts. Second (for 1st place) was 10-6 Daygo.
With Daygo 16u missing 2 girls to Worlds, this does not look good at all for PSW this JO. PSW may endup nowhere near top. Am i missing something?
Switching to 18u PSW:
JO Quals SD Shores 18u (1st in zone) beat La Jolla 18u (2nd in zone): 12-10.
If half-staffed Newport 16u (same that ended Futures 9th) beats PSW close 2nd 18u seed, picture is not good for 18u for PSW either.
