Here is the schedule for this year’s S&R Sport Tournament. Two schools dropped out at the last minute, leaving a 14-school field.

Tournament seeding is obviously arbitrary, but SRV beat Redwood previously this season, finished 5th at S&R last year by beating Mira Costa in the 5th place game. 8th seeding is not accurate. I wonder if the Tournament Director can make last minute seeding adjustment.

Here are my predictions, often wrong, for this weekend’s S&R Sport Tournament:

  1. Mira Costa
  2. Menlo. The potential semifinal game between Menlo and Long Beach Wilson could go either way.
  3. Long Beach Wilson
  4. Westlake. Redwood will give Westlake a good game in the quarterfinals.
  5. San Ramon Valley. The potential third-round game between SRV and Redwood could go either way.
  6. Huntington Beach
  7. Redwood
  8. Foothill

This is cryptic. Is there a story here?

Wilson and Westlake have already played a few times this year, they can’t want another pairing.

I went back and did some checking. This tournament was founded in 1994. 2025 is the first year that Mira Costa has won it. They are having a strong season, which includes beating Harvard-Westlake for the first time since at least 1991 if ever.
