Here are my predictions for the top Divisions of the San Diego, North Coast, Central Coast, Central, and Sac-Joaquin Sections:
San Diego Section Open Division:
(1.) Cathedral Catholic
(2.) La Jolla
(3.) Bishop’s
(4.) Carlsbad. The quarterfinal game between Carlsbad and Santana should be close.
North Coast Section Open Division:
(1.) Miramonte. The possible championship game between Miramonte and De La Salle could go either way. Miramonte and De La Salle have met in the NCS Open Division finals in every year since 2021.
(2.) De La Salle
(3.) Campolindo
(4.) San Ramon Valley
North Coast Section Division 1:
(1.) Redwood. Redwood won the NCS Division 1 tournaments in 2023 and 2024.
(2.) Northgate
(3.) Monte Vista
(3.) Alameda
Central Coast Section Open Division:
(1.) Sacred Heart Prep. Sacred Heart hasn’t lost a Central Coast Section tournament game since 2010 and is the 4x defending Northern California champion.
(2.) Menlo
(3.) Saint Francis. The quarterfinal game between Saint Francis and Valley Christian could go either way.
(3.) Los Gatos. The quarterfinal game between Los Gatos and Soquel should be close. College coaches looking for a Class-of-2027 goalie should consider Soquel’s Rafael Suarez-Abraham, one of the top junior goalies in the country.
Central Section Division 1 (the top Division):
(1.) Buchanan. Buchanan won the Central Section Division 1 tournaments in 2023 and 2024.
(2.) Clovis
(3.) Clovis North
(3.) Clovis West
Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 (the top Division):
(1.) Rio Americano
(2.) Davis. The likely semifinal game between Davis and Rocklin could go either way.
(3.) Rocklin
(3.) McClatchy
