Agree. Not sure why we are finding other reasons than what the ref said was the reason.
Did you hear what the ref actually said?
“I may have missed that [meaning the slap], you just dropped the f bomb, you’re out of the game”
So he clearly interpreted the “I just got slapped in the face” yelled during stoppage time as snark about missing the slap. And when a player from the same team (same player?) was booted a week ago for disrespect, you have to wonder if something else had already happened to put the ref so on edge.
The f bomb part is black and white but you can’t just dismiss the context. That’s just not how officiating works, like it or not.
Final results:
- CdM
- Long Beach Wilson
- Bishop’s
- Foothill
- Saint Francis
- Bellarmine
- Davis
- Archie Williams
No one from that team was booted for disrespect last week. Context does matter, and in this case, the kid had blood streaming out of his mouth so you’d think the ref might take a moment to understand what’s going on before making false accusations . . . and maybe actually checking to see if the kid is injured. Is that too much to ask from a professional adult?

Watch the LJ player get hit by the exiting player on the way out btw
What are we looking at here and how is it relevant to the situation being discussed? I watched your clip but struggling to understand how it defends the ref lying adamantly during a different game. That clip could be any game. If you are saying that is causing a carryover then every water polo game in the future is in trouble, which it is not.
I agree. #2 Dark deserved the kickout, the swimover…? However, what does this film have to do with the discussion?
The video was to (unfortunately) refute the claim above that no one from that team was booted the week before for disrespecting the ref.
Just my two cents.
That claim, that you (unfortunately) decided to refute with the posted video, was not central to the discussion at all. It would have been more than sufficient to state that the claim was probably wrong and there was a video available if somebody wanted to dig further in that direction.
Agreed
Got frustrated with the extreme gaslighting over the effect of past actions on referee predispositions
Let’s stop defending the ref in any way in this situation. Accountability and ownership of the situation is the grown up thing to do here.
Anywho…. shout out to CDM for a dominant performance on the weekend. Their smallest margin of victory was 4 goals. Would have been interesting to see how they may have fared in the far more competitive tournament being played just a short hop north up the peninsula.
