2025-26 SoCal Girls' Water Polo Season

If we are to follow the Souther Section’s timetable for Boys and apply it to Girls, we should have our first rankings this Friday, which also coincides when the Boys’ All-CIF teams should be released.

Foothill 9 - San Marcos 10

Game winner scored by Charlotte Raisin with 1:00 left

Your Top Ten list looks spot on. The top four teams seem to be a step above everyone else. I still have MD as the team to beat, but I was really impressed with Newport this weekend.

Can’t wait for the Santa Barbara tournament.

Coaches and Athletic Directors,

Happy holidays, I hope you are all off to an enjoyable break!

I have run a report on games that took place as of 12/20/25 (Saturday). Please have your ADs fill in any missing information/placeholders (such as a TBA opponent or score) now before the work gets overwhelming.

I agree with that Top 10 as well. The semis were physical tilts and the two teams with the most depth prevailed. It’s interesting to note that Mater Dei won despite not having Kirra Pantelon and Penny Mauser with undisclosed injuries. watched games Friday and Saturday and thought I would put together a list of standouts from the Top 8 Teams.

Is this official?

Wow, that makes no sense.

Agoura has a good team, but their one loss was something like 22-5 to Oaks Christian, and their wins aren’t over anyone that should rank them THAT high.

Those are official from CIF sent out to the coaches.

I am certain that as more games are played over the break and updated the first week of January, a more accurate version will come into focus.

The first version of the ratings for the boys season was whacked as well. It will figure itself out as a whole, but there will be some issues probably. Last year with Palos Verdes being an Open Team and this season with Laguna Beach making Open over Loyola.

Oof! That 8/9 thing with the boys was rough. I would like to have been a fly on the wall for that discussion. Loyola was basically gifted a Div 1 Championship.

Oaks Christian 11, MD 7

That’s a clear and convincing win for OC - a little surprising. Congrats to OC

Anyone see the game? Was it closer than the score?

No, Oaks played this very tactically. By the end of the 3rd it was clear who was winning. Oaks played well.

Newport v. Bishop’s tied 4-4 at half. Newport pulled it out 14-9 with a couple empty net goals at the end.

Did MD have their full team? I know two girls were missing from early season.

Yes, Kirra and Penny are back and they played.

There is no discussion anymore when it comes to the rankings. It’s all computer generated,
