Junior Guards and Water Polo are totally connected in Santa Cruz (as I am sure they are in SoCal as well). At any guards comp, all the top finishers are polo athletes. They make for some gritty kids as they grow up, and super body confident and strong. Ryder’s display of bravery and strength are just part of the job! These kids work their butts off all summer.
I would urge anyone interested in supporting recognizing lifeguards as first responders, check out the information on USLA’s website regarding Concurrent Resolution 41.
