Good pod again and I like the renewed vigor on the NL. Some ideas from Len and other sports that could help in the popularity and gaining momentum
Create an IG account dedicated for NL
Create of have someone own the NL website (the current USA Water Polo one is not useful nor timely)
Mash up overngt feeds with highlights / digital shorts recaps for IG
Publish rosters and stats in shorts on IG and recaps
Create a deck experience like UOP spring tournament or Quicksilver from last summer
Pre-publish / advertise as much as possible on IG to get kids to games
Sponsors sponsors sponsors
Have players of the game for each side
Also, Q : Does anyone know how the championship will work? Some idea of how that works would be useful. Does everyone make the tournament? How do we make the league games meaningful for standings for tournament seedings? Will there be an all star team? MVP?
We absolutely agree with all of this. Some of the teams, such as laac and channel cats, have taken the promotion into their own hands due to the absence of anything else.
The game of the week is channel cats vs laac Saturday night at 6pm at Woollett. That should be a hotly contested match and I know that coaches in the area have been blasting it to their kids all week. Feel free to spread the word!
Playoffs will work as such:
Conference record will be used as the primary criteria. From there it goes to total points with judgment from the committee based on rosters, head to head results, common opponents etc.
The playoff total teams will be between 8 to 11 teams and will be held at Mt Sac in Walnut.
Great episode! Of course, loved hearing from one of the best Centers in the world and one of the best Centers currently in college polo. We can only hope Ben is on that 2028 Olympic Team and if not we seem to be developing some good Centers behind him.
Benâs interview was really educational and shows what a proffesional he is. Didnât hear much about other non SC or LACC games or about the one LACC lost Sunday. Clayton should contribute more he has some excellent experience and bonafides.

I have a quick question. In your last episode, you showed the NL Championship Fridayâs schedule. I assume that the same file contains also Saturday and Sunday schedules. Could you post it somewhere? For people outside Socal, it might be helpful in deciding travel logistics.
