Polo livestream / TV coverage NCAA

Starting a subthread to track all things NCAA polo coverage either online (free or paid) and TV / streamed.

First question : Anyone know if upcoming Triton Invite will be streamed at all?

ESPN shows a 9:05 am placeholder for UC San Diego on 9/7 but no opponent, which is probably when tournament coverage begins.

Triton Invite schedule is out : https://ucsdtritons.com/sports/2024/8/24/2024-triton-invitational.aspx

No information on stream yet. There are some Fosh links in there.

The MPSF men’s and women’s games even featuring top 1 and 2 teams were often pitiful streams last year. Sometimes there was no stream at all. Given the momentum of the Olympics, and freedom from low quality PC12 media decisions, the schools should either feature ESPN+ streams (as the Ivies do well), Overnght, the Utah company (name escapes), or a school stream at least level with some of the high schools for every game. Hard to grow the sport with zero coverage at #1 UCLA 's pool, for example.

Another option that perplexes me is why not bring in their film, broadcast, and art students to do the filming and production?

They likely could put a better product together than most minus ESPN assuming they find announcers.

Perhaps their are contractual licensing reasons why not ?

Hopefully someone from Utah-based GOLS is all over this!

The path to sustainable college programs (cf the NCAA settlement discussion threads) is TV viewership and with the US men’s team’s Olympic momentum this is a once in a generation window to put the sport on the national map.

I did notice on UCSD’s schedule, their home games now say ESPN+ on all of them except next weekends tournament.

I believe all Big West games are on ESPN +.

And it looks like Overnght is doing MPSF again. Let’s hope they have improved that service since last year.

Anyone know if the Triton Invite @ UCSD is being streamed? There’s nothing on their site (so far - sometimes these things are posted late).

The games at UCSD are usually not streamed. In fact none of the games usually have live stats, unless the UCSD team is playing.

Not great for growing the sport.

According to my schedule, the only televised games on ESPN Plus are from Brown.

Pacific, Fordham, Harvard, Cal Baptist and the host Bears are all there. Best televised games are Pacific-Brown, Fordham-Brown, Fordham-Cal Baptist and Harvard-Cal Baptist.

Tried some of the live games this AM on ESPN+ and all are “page not found” so far :(. None of the games from Triton seem to be streaming.

Not a great start to the season in the coverage department.

Sadly this is becoming the place to post there is no streams. Stanford vs UCSB was advertized to be on Overngt. Yet looks like its not on their site :(. Anyone have a direct link perchance?

Today at 1pm watch UCLA V UCI on ESPN+

Looks like Pepperdine V LMU will be on ESPN+ Saturday at noon.
At the same time on Overnght will be USC V UCI.

The Princeton Invitational looks to only be streaming the Princeton games. games to watch, Princeton V Navy 930am Saturday, UCSD 5pm Saturday and the big one UOP at 3pm on Sunday, I am guessing all times east coast…

The aggie round up does not look to be streaming any games this weekend. Shame on them!

Others streaming, Fullerton is streaming only their games on ESPN plus this weekend from the Triton invitational. Salem seems to be streaming some games as well this weekend from their tournament.

Come on Tournament organizers stream all the games! Everything is set up already!

Games are out there if you just look, so stop complaining, set your alarms, get your popcorn and a beer and watch some polo!
