Is anyone up to speed in San Diego girls club polo? Shores and La Jolla seem to have the largest, most competitive programs. Shores has been around for decades. La Jolla seems to be the new kid on the block as a relatively new club yet competitive in the zone. Is Seaside still top tier club? They used to be quite competitive. Del Mar appears to be in rebuild mode. What about the Dons and Club Daygo? Any other clubs on the rise or decline?
Kirby Kaptur is now listed as Del Marâs Head Coach of the high school girls program.
According to their posts, she is just an assistant and Nick Alexander is leading the HS girls program.
Nick will coach 16âs and Kirby will coach the 18âs is my understanding.
Del Mar probably has more high school coaches than players at this point. They didnât have a 14u program last year, only 12u & 10u. It will be risky for a high school player to make the move when there is no foundation to start from.
Yes, unless an entire team follows⌠which Iâve seen happen in other sports.
Del Mar had a 14u program all the way till San Diego Cup ( early May) when, I assume, the majority of the girls moved to SD Dons.
The movements between clubs could be pretty chaotic 
Has anyone heard about Del Mar this fall? Their boys program appears to be scratched. Has their HS girls program also been cancelled ? Two of their better young girls have left the program.

Their 12U girls silver at JOs was the best PSW girls age group result in over a decade and unlike past PSW successes didnât involve out-of-area players. The other clubs in the area are lucky to get any of the Lizotte-trained players from that squad.
Couldnât agree more. Iâm more curious about the direction of the PSW clubs going into the 2026-2027 season.
So, there is a lot of uncertainty in PSW as far as 16âs and 18âs girls go. A lot of girls have been using the Fall session to try out other clubs. Also, the Donâs now have a 16âs team as well. I donât think we will know where all the pieces fall until after high school season. There does appear to be a fair amount of unrest at LJU on the girlâs side. Iâm hearing they have very few 16âs and families are looking at all of their options.
My daughter is a 16u and has been looking at clubs. Shores and La Jolla have 2 full rosters at 16u. She has tried both and each club has a very competitive âAâ team. I donât think Dons is an option for a non CCHS girl and I donât believe DayGo has a 16u team. Seaside is a bit far for us but it doesnât sound like theyâre as competitive as theyâve been in years past. DM has been the one question mark. Not a lot of HS girl options.
I do think Trilogy the new club practicing at Westview HS has a girls 16U team. Iâm not sure if Kirby was able to pull girls over to Del Mar using her ODP influence.

Dons is open to all on the girlsâ side, not limited to CCHS girls.
