Hi Water Polo Exchange Community,
My name is Mark Katsev, founder of Prep2PlaySports and a recent graduate from Fordham’s water polo program. Reflecting on my journey, I realized how much my preparation in high school could have been improved. While I spent hours in the gym, my training wasn’t water polo- or position-specific. Instead, I followed generic workout plans that made me bulky and immobile, which actually hindered my performance. I also wished for 1-on-1 game film study, like sports such as football often offer, but it wasn’t accessible for water polo.
With the NCAA walk-on opportunity nearly disappearing, it’s more important than ever to be ready for the recruiting process before it starts—ideally by your junior year. That’s why we work with both middle school and high school athletes to help them prepare for success.
