How are the teams / players selected and what info is shared to the voting committee? Are awards typically just given out to graduating seniors or are they merit-based off CIF Playoff performance? Perhaps a mixed bag with each school taking different approaches?
Someone please feel free to correct me if Iām wrong, but I think the only concrete rules are the following:

only the coach is allowed to nominate their own players. Meaning another team cannot nominate a player on behalf of another coach

the coach has to be present at the meeting and cannot submit names ahead of time.

the order in which the coach nominates their players matters. If a coach nominates Player A and Player B in that specific order, player B cannot be chosen before Player A for placement on any team.
I think thatās it. Other than that, I know there are a few unwritten, letās say guidelines that tend to get followed, but arenāt necessarily always followed, which is why I called them guidelines and not rules.
