Thanks, Clark. The Google document showing the scores will be issued next week.

Does anyone have Chino Hills “Thrills in the Hills” girls water polo tournament?

Don’t have that one. I know that tournament is extremely hard to find online as I’ve tried plenty of times in the past :joy:

I did get my hands on this one. I’ve noticed it’s changed a few times.

Here is the Google document for the Villa Park Tournament, which should be a very good tournament.

Why would Cathedral make it in over OLU or J Serra?

This question came up with the boys’ version of this same event and it was said that they like to have at least 2 teams from each section in this tournament.

There is no defensible rationale for this.

San Diego girls’ teams tend to struggle in this tournament (Bishop’s went 0-5 last year) and the reality is that the drop-off after the top 3-4 teams in girls’ water polo is pretty significant year over year. Kudos to teams who are willing to come play the top dogs despite heavy odds they go winless on the weekend.

On the boys’ side, Harvard Westlake’s Elite 8 tournament invites teams from several different sections, despite the potential availability of several other more talented and successful teams in the CIFSS. Not everyone wants in. Not everyone has room in their schedule. And not everyone gets invited… don’t underestimate the role of politics.

Olu, j Serra, CDM and other top 20 teams are playing in the SoCal tourney. Looks like a great weekend of polo before cif.
