Thanks Marco…he’s raw but he moves pretty well. Heard he plays basketball to.
Dare to Dream:
The highest levels of polo were definitely Newport Girls and Del Mar. Short behind was Patriot who iron manned the second day, missing their starting set D. Newport boys have the potential to be in that top group as well. SD shores and Foothill played in the coed final and both have good center play and goalies. Those 6 teams will be at the top at JOs.
Newport Girls were most impressive. They are big, strong, have the moves and the leadership with Hattie Doyle. Hattie is going to be one of those players to watch on national teams in the future.
Commerce has some scrappy boys and girls teams. They look small so next year will be dangerous. PV has a lefty baller who I believe is JO-9. Then Patriot 9u has some ballers as well. Two tiny, tiny kids ran that team.
Anyone have a link to the Kap7 schedules?

KAP7 International is a fun tournament. It comes at the end of week 24, exactly the midpoint of the season.
We get a good look at everyone as the Northern Cali teams travel in force to mix it up with the CCA, SOPAC, and PSW teams. By the end of the weekend, we know how 680, and Lamorinda, and CC United, etc., measure against the Vanguards and Newports.
It is also a tournament where some teams play down to win medals. I won’t name names, but I see a number of Futures Division 1 teams playing in Gold at all age groups on both the Boys and Girls sides.
For those coming in from out of town, I wish you all safe travels and the fairest of referees.
Are any of the top teams missing or playing up in age group? Patriot, Del Mar etc are known to play some of their teams/players up?
Off the top of my head, I remember seeing that Patriot 10u is playing up in 12u. Vanguard and Del Mar are both playing their 12u up in 14u. There are likely others.
That may actually be younger teams playing in an older bracket but in Gold or Silver.
I do think there is some of that for sure, but there are a handful of teams I’m confident are playing down.
Why would anyone play “down” for 1200 dollars I would hope you are getting good hard competition. You could buy all the kids medals that don’t fall apart as soon as you leave the pool deck if they just want a medal. This tournament should show you where you team stands and how you stack up, why win a medal in the silver division on purpose?
A number of nor cal teams are playing Frozen Cup this weekend. Particularly girls teams.
Anyone on the ground at Kap7?
Tight game between Vanguard 12u (dark caps) versus Elite 14u (white caps).
Elite jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and Vanguard has been clawing their way back into the game. Elite is winning 8-7 at halftime.
Live stream:
What is this sideline HD? Can anyone broadcast from a phone?
Well, not anyone. Not for the faint of heart. Scorecam is another option as is Larix broadcaster.
Looks like the beast boys fell to lamo in a shootout and lamo beat CIU by a few so still anyone’s game
Also, weren’t several teams training in San Diego together and not at the tourney?
Don’t cry if you don’t show up
Who is crying about what?
