2026 Women's College Season

Yes, that looks right.

Looks to be very similar to last year.

And LMU gave UCLA a real scare in this same bracket seed last year

Yes, UCLA won a close game with LMU 11-8. Hawaii upset Cal 8-7 also.

I think that Cal will beat Hawaii and UCLA will handle LMU more easily this time around, but you never know. That is why it is such a great tournament.

We were up North for the MPSF this weekend and watched most of the games. The ā€œTop 4ā€ (I’ll still include Cal as they did make the Championship Game the season before last) are all extremely close. Most of the games were effectively one goal games when you remove empty nets and the like. As usual there were some head scratchers with the calls (who wants an OT game to end on a 5-meter - let the kids play) but overall pretty good refereeing. I could have done without the rain, I’m still drying off.

Here’s hoping for some fun water polo in two weeks and maybe some ā€œupsetsā€!

Agree about the Stan/Ucla game ending with a 5M shot and the rain plus lighting delays was terrible!

How does UCLA move up and take 2nd spot for the NCAA finals ??? Did I miss something, were they in the MPSF final instead of SC?help me make sense of this final rankings?

I am surprised to see UCLA seeded above USC. I do not think that either team will have a problem with their opening round game, but I would certainly prefer to play Harvard than LMU.

I do not think that the NCAA selection committee takes into consideration the regular season rankings.

Does anyone know who is on the ā€œcommitteeā€? Maybe the answer lies there. I did think it odd when USC vaulted above Stanford after a one goal victory after USC lost to UCLA twice…also could be the answer…

Clearly the UCLA 2-1 record against USC was what put them over the top. But I wouldn’t of thought that was enough to overcome their 0-3 record against Stanford plus they had 1 more loss than USC

Maybe because UCLA went to OT vs Stanford and lost by 1 while UCS lost by 2…that would be my guess

They were running out the clock…that was effectively a one goal game.

USC beat Stanford and UCLA didn’t. Advantage USC on that common opponent record

UCLA was 2-1 vs USC and 0-3 vs Stanford. Their 3 losses to Stanford were ny a combined 3 goals.

USC was 1-2 vs UCLA and 1-1 vs Stanford.

Since USC won the MPSF regular season, I would have given them the advantage.

In the MPSF Championship game, Stanford was up by 2 with a minute left in the game and then scored again to go up by 3. Ausmus scored at the very end to bring USC within 2.

USC went into the MPSF Championships with the No 1 seed. They made it to the finals and UCLA did not. No way UCLA should rank over them now.
