What’s weird is that So Florida Vegas was made up of all Florida players with minimal exceptions. They were to partner with Vegas and something seems to have happened. “Vegas” is really into the old workaround system.
Based on Futures they are out there somewhere. They were too talented for us to think they are not playing JO. They beat the 5, 7, and 8 seeds in SPA.
The 18u team calling themselves “Olympus” had zero kids attending Olympus High School in the greater Salt Lake City area. All but three of the kids on that roster are on LOWPO’s 18u JO Roster.

The “Olympus” from Super Finals won the top 18uB seed out of PNW and is seeded 36 in the 18uB Championship bracket.

That makes sense. I don’t see the shenanigans though.what did they do wrong in Futures? It sounds like in JO they are going within their zone if I am reading it right and did JO quals. They are a PNW team and won the quals at a bad seed.

I read it as a team from one zone taking another zone’s spot, may have misread it. The North Irvine/Vegas/Brazil stuff was fresh in my head from the other topic.
North Irvine for sure taking zone spots. It sounds like Olympus is actually more Oregon based, Lowpo in reality based on Marco research. That explains them going by NoCal during Futures. They did JO quals in their zone. Looking back two years ago they actually made platinum at 16u so they must have some players. Their Futures performance this year confirms it. Maybe we should ask Aetos.

I see there is a CIU A and a CIU Pride for 18u. Anyone have insight into these 18u teams? I didn’t follow Coastal Zone quals
CIU A is the senior-based team (played National League)
CIU Pride is next year’s Oaks Christian HS team
CIU B is a Junior, now rising senior team (played Futures and Superfinals)

For 18u here are some observations and notes based off your notes and predictions.
I don’t see Stanford replicating their 18u success from Superfinals without Coleman (Cadet travel team). I think Stanford will end up finishing behind CCU, Atherton, and Lamo.
I will make a prediction for the finals now. I think it’ll be Newport and Dons with Newport coming out on top. Dons might miss a few Cadet team players, but they’ll return their 3 youth team players. Newport returns their 2 youth team players and Ohl.
I’m gonna go in the opposite direction as you for La Jolla United. Hard to say for sure, but of all the teams missing their youth team player(s), I’m not sure anyone misses theirs as much as LJ misses Black. Probably Newport and Anderson. I’m gonna predict a top 10 finish for LJU.
Newport is the clear favorite in my opinion and, as stated earlier, I believe Dons are their main contender. I think the following teams have a good shot at upending Dons to meet Newport in the final: CCU, Atherton, Lamo, Shores, Trojan, LJU, and CIU A.
There should be a lot of competitive games in the build up to making the finals. Anyone can get there but it will take a great game to defeat Newport.

I agree. If Newport returns all of their seniors, even without the two who went to Navy, they’ll be very hard to beat. They only lost by one goal to both CCU and Atherton at Super Finals while playing with essentially one field sub and even had their backup goalie playing in the field.
If they bring everyone back, they may have enough depth to field separate 16U and 18U teams that can both contend for championships.
That said, there are so many talented teams this year that nothing is guaranteed. It should be one of the most competitive Junior Olympics in recent memory, and it will be a lot of fun watching all of these top teams battle it out.

CIU A has not played that much together in games of late, but were second at NL Champs beating Aetos in the Quarter (25-13) and Dons in the Semi (15-14) before falling to Newport in the Final (10-16). Dons finished 3rd over Mission, Trojan over Stanford for 5th. The East Bay teams did not come down for this tournament (end of swim season).
Newport, Aetos, Dons and Trojan all had guys missing National League for Team USA.

What are price for the session last year? For The 4 day tournament I just check and is 64.06$ I guess we still need to paid to watch our kids.

Other than Newport, if they play JO, based on what I’ve seen in Futures and Quicksilver, this is one of the hardest JOs to pick 2-12. It all depends on how 16u worlds affect the various teams, how the 18u world players that skipped affect the teams, and the seeding. It will be a very competitive and chaotic 18u JOs.
That sounds like a good thing. Parity is a healthy sign for sure
