His mother tragically passed away during the season
8 offensives on UCLA. Amazing they won with that stat
Did USC file a protest? Clock errors are appealable, with or without VAR.
Clock error or judgement call?
Silly comment about a championship game…..
I assume the scoreboard was set up with a horn when the shot clock expired? That’s normal, but I don’t recall hearing them on the video feed. Did it sound?
I watched the replay and the horn sounded as he shot. Bang bang play.
Congrats to UCLA. What a great game.
It’s a very close call when you listen and watch at full speed and it would be harsh to put this on the refs. To be fair, I only caught it because ESPN replayed the goal in slo mo and it was still close. However, not having a replay/VAR to verify a situation like this is certainly a miss.
I’m not sure if they filed a protest. I’m assuming they would take the stance that there would need to be clear evidence to overturn. If they don’t have a replay system, it would be impossible to overturn based on discussion of what the refs saw live.
Agreed. One of the best college games I’ve seen in a while.
I had USC winning it all. I really thought that they were built for a Championship this year. Hard to gve up a two goal lead. This one is going to sting.
This was an absolutely ridiculous goal by Sherlock
Watching the replay again and again, you can’t blame the officiating for that call to count the goal from Tico. There are milliseconds involved and it would be a hard call to overturn.
instead of complaining about that call, should an exclusion have been called at 2m on UCLA on the previous USC possession after the Ryder Dodd tip/interception?
that comment is pretty absurd. USC got out played all game with the exception of the 2nd quarter. Can’t be pointing the finger cause of one sequence. The last usc goal very easily could’ve been called inside 2m. They were lined up and then the pass lead Martin infront. Since they added the 2m box that hasn’t been allowed. This game had all the hype and lived up to it.
Instead of complaining about if whether or not the shot went in before the end of regulation, how about people talk about how USC blew a 2 goal lead? USC fans blaming the loss on the refs is a trope that’s playing out again.
Do those clocks turn to zero at 0.99 or 0.00? If the clock is at 7:00.00 when the game starts, does it flip to 6:59 at 6:59.99 or 6:59.00? Basically, does the buzzer go off when the clock flips to 0:00 or a second after that?
I think that with everybody caught up in clock drama, we need to take a step back and just admire the he’ll of a game that just occurred. Tauchser and mills had huge saves time after time, Dodd with an insane goal, Jack vort was ripping it, vukavic had his moments, and the lefties for UCLA put huge amounts of pressure of usc.
The ESPN broadcast was really good. A professional broadcast like that is so good for our sport. Mescall was outstanding as usual. Abdou was good too, but he seemed like he was very pro USC during the actual game.
