Nothings more dangerous than a team that has nothing to lose… hats off to CUI for putting up a fight
6-3 USC at half USC looks half asleep
Massive credit to Concordia. For the poster that said USC looks asleep, that just gives CUI the means to play hard on the big stage ![]()
Concordia is playing well.
USC is probably 2 for 10 on 6 on 5 and has missed 2 5 meter shots. They are also not passing and catrching as crisp/clean as they should be.
I picked USC at the beginning of the year and I see no reason to switch now. The addition of Vukazic really put them over the top due to his 2MD skills.
I will go with UCLA over Stanford 12-9 in their semi amd USC over Fordham 16-10 in theirs.
For the Championship, I will go with USC 12-10. I disagree with Jeff and feel that UCLA has the advantage in their depth and can go 6 in, 6 out at any time, but USC has the advantage with their best 7 of Mills, Vukazic, Duart, Brankovic, Naipoglu, Krstic and Grgurevic with Martin being an exceptional #2 center. For UCLA to win, Ryder is going to have to have an elite game and their 4/5 guys are really going to have to step up.
thank you! Do you know if the games will be available on replay at all, and if so where those would be?
This SJSU offense just can’t keep pace with Fordham’s offense.
Fordham has had a couple counter goals that I am sure SJSU wants back. Provenziani is on his game right now. Fordham’s defense improved throughout the year and is playing well today.
Doesn’t help that SJSU is missing wide open looks in front of the cage.
these refs are terrible
There hasn’t been a new ref in I don’t know. How many years it’s a bad sign Good old boys club
At least Rotzart is not on deck. But yes, low bar.
That was not an enjoyable game to watch. Hope UCLA is saving energy for tomorrow. Uninspiring performance. 21 exclusions drawn by Princeton? thats absurd
The registered stats for the game are subpar at best.
There’s no complete record of drawn exclusions . Who on Princeton actually earned those?
There’s also no full stat on conversions; each team is credited with only one, which is clearly inaccurate.
I assume the secondary stats (steals, blocks, etc.) are incomplete as well.
Not a great look.
What a mess of a game from what i watched. I did not not understand the reffing at all. Looked to be a lot of flopping going on.
Any first hand accounts?
22 exclusions against UCLA. Was horrendous
It’s only as good as the person running it. Not sure if Stanford staff is involved but their track record this year has been bad
It’s tough. I don’t know if the problem is with the specific officiating today or the fact that this is the current reality of the sport. Every ball into center is being called an exclusion and they aren’t necessarily letting the guys play. It goes back to my previous point I’ve made on this thread about center defenders not being as valuable when the game is reffed in a way that favors exclusions. But I think you also gotta tip your hat to a Princeton team that scared UCLA and made them play all the way till the end. Tico and Ryder had some very timely goals, but as is the case historically between these two teams, same systems allow for close matchups. Princetons Brescia defense allowed for some great counter opportunities and they were able to draw a good amount in transition as well. Tauscher didn’t have his best game, got beat over the head multiple times, he needs to be better tomorrow.
IMO, UCLA was in complete control the entire game. They subbed throughout and rested the main guys a ton. It almost felt as though they took exclusions so they could work on 5 man D the whole game.
SC has looked the worst today of the contenders, but I think they will be ready to go tomorrow. SC-UCLA for the title on Sunday in a 1 goal game.
Agree. They were in complete control and you make a fair point. Adam probably was happy to get the 5 man work. I just thought the game was boring and at no point was I entertained by the play.
