SD Section just charges a no-rentry gate fee and lets people sit where they like (as long as they’re not on the same side of the pool as technical/admin/arbiter staff). Coggan pool in La Jolla fills in well, with all available seats occupied by the start of the Open final (schedule for the Finals goes D3 at 11a, D2 at 1p, State Play in at 3p, D1 at 5p, Open at 7p).

The great thing about Mt SAC is that all players, coaches, referees, ect ect, are on the lower lever where there are no seats at all, thus no fans at all.
The rest of the seating, should be open to everybody to sit at, specially if you are seeing that the place is filling up and people are sitting on the steps

I think semi-finals and finals to be played in neutral locations is the most fair. I remember in 2022 when semis were still at Woollett that in D3 Irvine played Portola. Irvine’s coach argued that it was an unfair advantage for his school for the semis to be played at home.
The only CIF sport that does playoffs right is Football.
