The Space Time Conundrum in Water Polo

To answer your question on the 2 point shot, I believe it was felt by many that this created a stagnant game dominated by individuals trying to score from outside 7m — in some ways led to less scoring rather than more since the percentage shooting from there was less.

I agree the ball under gets called a lot at center when the center defender reaches over the center and pulls the ball under water towards them. I’m not in favor of this call as it definitely doesn’t fit with the rules stated.

Appreciate the info and can definitely see that.

In response to ball under talks: I agree with the whole reaching over, whether it’s in set or the perimeter. I remember teaching and getting taught that reaching over is an easy foul or if guarding set, and exclusion. To “bail out” the 2MD for being overly aggressive just because the set has their hand on the ball trying to make a move seems counterintuitive to trying to reward the offense.
