No question that the players are skilled. And I watched a full half, which was all I could take. This summary of the game at half time kind of summarized what was missing. A combined 33 shots–1 from center, none on fast break. That alone takes away what to me are the most exciting plays in the sport. No penalty shots, which is fine by me. Nothing is more boring. 22 shots–2/3 of the total–came on “action” which sounds good, except that in most cases the action sequence was: turnover-goalie pass into the offensive end-and then a shot after one more pass. The extent to which these are not quality shots that have moved the goalie and the defense is captured in the 5/22 scoring ratio. The only really exciting in the game was the goalie play, which was outstanding.
It does feel like kinda of scrimmage where you split your own team in half
The US women just beat Australia in straight sets in the first semifinal and will play in the final for a chance to win the inaugural WP4 gold medal.

The USA women win the inaugural WP4 gold in straight sets against Spain. A dominate performance by the women in the new format.

Final was actually a good game. The US team seemed to commit on defense more than Spain. US had multiple field blocks in every quarter and I don’t even recall Spain having any field blocks.
