> With UCSD & UCSB joining the WCC 7/1/27, the 2027 season will be the last in the current conference structure as the BWC and GCC will fall under 6 teams each with the creation a new WCC conference. WCC (6-8?) = LMU, UOP, SMC, SCU, UCSD, UCSB BWC (4-6?) = CBU, CSUF, CSUN, Haw, LB, UCI GCC (4) = FS, SDSU, SJSU, Davis Some questions: Will the new WCC be eligible for NCAAs or will they have to sit out for 2 years? Will UCI stay in the Big West as the only remaining UC? (sorry UC Riverside) Wi…

This was posted in the WWP channel but a similar discussion for the men, minus the GCC part. With some team changes this year and UCSD and UCSB moving to the WCC in 2027, what options will the BW have to add new teams?

WCC = UOP, Pepp, LMU, Santa Clara, UCSB, UCSD, SMC

SJSU, AF, CBU are currently affiliate members of WCC

BWC = LB, Irvine, CSUF, CBU (soon)

Could BWC get WCC affiliate members and maybe Davis to reach 6 teams?

Other alternative is joining the MPSF which no one wants.

UC Davis is leaving BW for WCC. Has it been announced what conference SMC is in for water polo?

Does that mean that BWC only has 4 members and no Automatic Qual?

I believe for 2026 they have 6. For 2027 I’m sure they are working on it.
