Not the most accurate analyses, but, a decent indication on what schools are still in a need for 2026 players (domestic and international). I took the average of previous years’ domestic commits at each school - number of confirmed 2026 commits to calculate and ‘Estimated Open Remaining Slots.’ I also counted the number of current players on the roster sans seniors and the gap to 24.

you don’t know how many designated players each team has. anyone who was going to be cut got a designation that allows them not to count against a roster limit until they leave the team. so if a team has 28 on it this year you can assume they have 4 designated players who are freshmen or sophomores that do not count towards next years limit. Davis does not get to keep anyone over 24 since they delayed opting into the settlement. they have unlimited this year and must be at 24 next year. (unless a transfer comes in with the designation attached to them).

Did any programs not opt in?
Yes! the ones that did are
UC Davis (will opt in next year according to WPW interview)
Harvard, Brown, Princeton, Navy, Air Force, Iona, Mercyhurst (not sure they have mens), Wagner.
here is the list of schools that did. CBU, Fullerton, George Washington, John Hopkins, Long Beach Sate, LIU it goes on.
Looks like Fresno State and Bucknell opted out.
