Yes, he was 12U boys San Clemente coach last couple years.

Years of JO experience is an interesting metric to consider. It seems like a fair assumption that a 12U athlete with 4 years of JO experience has not only gained significant experience in competition, but they also played up, correct?
To be a returning 12U with 4 years under their belt they had to play 10U as an 8 year old.
Or…
If the athlete played 10U and 12U in the same year does that count as an additional JO experience? In this case the athlete had 2 JO tournaments in one year.
Else 3 JOs would be “normal” for them. 2 @ 10U, 1 @ 12U.
Either way, any team returning that much experience is likely going to be strong and smart. CCU seems like a good candidate for top spots.
I count years as years. If a player is dual rostered or even triple rostered, it still counts as a single JO year.
The stat isn’t necessarily the king of all indicators, but experience is an interesting data point to consider, especially while there isn’t a lot else to look at.

In theory 6-8 athlete profiles could provide information on the roster, but then we get into this whole debate about whether 12U athletes should be talked about etc.
Sounds like CCU should field a good team.
That’s not unheard of… there’s players out there who played their first JOs at 6. That gives them 5 years of JO experience by the time they graduate 10u.

What makes you think that? I think mission has a great shot at repeating. They have a lot of kids returning from their national championship team. Beyond that I’m not sure that there is anyone that is a clear favorite.

You were spot on with SPA taking top three spots (Mission B, Patriot, Los Al) for the second year in a row. I did hear that Patriot asked to be moved down to Classic so maybe that messes up the algorithm?
Maybe we need to do a USA Waterpolo membership drive in SPA so we can get another spot in Championship??
Patriot A didn’t qualify for platinum. SPA Quals is tough. Patriot didn’t ask to move down ever.. iron sharpens iron.
