That happened to us a million years ago in 10u, but in our favor. Everyone knew our opponent was up by 1 except the refs and the desk. When it went to shootout we sent in the bottom of the bench as it seemed like the only reasonable thing to do. We rightfully lost in the shootout. I’m surprised Pegasus lived with the win.

Vanguard ad Greenwich were there last year, Greenwich beat Vanguard there. North Irvine took a coed team and won, but I think some team do take kids that are now 14u, because of the rules. * Age as of 10/9/26 (First date of play)

Is the “age as of first date of play” recently added? A millennium ago, the age cut off was the same as for JOs (age as of 8/1), such that all recently promoted athletes (who would be 14u for the following summer) could do Rocktober. With the new formulation, the kids with August 2-October 9 birthdays are excluded. I do not have an athlete in this fight.

I was looking at the dates and ODP development camp 2 lands Nov 15 for all the regions in California and is the same weekend of Spa Championship

How do we petition USA Waterpolo to move the ODP camp? SPA Championships is a priority tournament for a lot of clubs in SPA zone.

Where there other games this weekend?
Only ones I am aware of was all the fall SPA league games, which don’t post scores, unless people tell us on here. And there was the Pacific Fall Classic in San Diego.
Mission 12U A played Foothill and Socal Patriot at Spa League. Both were wins with wholesale swaps of the players each quarter.
Question-why would a team put together an all star team to qualify for Champions Cup? I just heard that Diablo is putting together a team from NorCal, Hawaii and SoCal. Crazy. If I was in their zone I would be mad. Not a good look Diablo. Support your zone.
The rumor I heard was shore scar is doing it too, CIU, pride, PV, LB shores and I though some kids from American River? Seems like it’s only for this champions cup like last year.
I get super teams, but for something that only lasts in the fall it doesn’t make sense, the champions cup doesn’t hold a lot of weight and it just shows that winning means more than team chemistry and culture. I can’t imagine culture being that great for the kids unless they win.
At the end of the day it’s youth sports and should be treated as such.

I think the problem is the high cost of attending this tournament, so clubs have to merge together to be able to put enough kids together to form a team from a certain area. If you know of somebody whose kid is planning on going on his trip, ask them what the cost is, and you will see why some clubs may not be able to put a team together on their own.
Stanford is also basically a superteam. Mostly SMAC and SJ Express players.
