The team listings for Back to School are up.
2026 KAP7 BACK TO SCHOOL TOURNAMENT
It is interesting on the boys side that a number of top teams opted out of doing the tournament this year. 2025 Back to School 14u Boys had Del Mar A, Patriot A, and La Jolla United A. None of those teams are in the 2026 games.
It is good to see the return of the Shore-SCAR super team.

This tournament is pretty light. Won’t show us much. I heard a couple LA Premier players were playing on Diablo. Why a super team for fall.
How they choose the teams for the championship cup? This tournament is for 14u boys and girls?
Champions Cup is by zone. If more than one club from a zone wants to attend, there’s a playoff. This happens in the larger zones of course but also in mid size zones like PSW, which has often sent two teams to the cup.
I think the big tell will be the zone games and then ECU. From what I recall ECU had all the major clubs and was a pretty competitive top 10 teams. I think even standford, lamo, and ccu travels for this one.
There is a qualifier tournament in each zone for the top spot in each zone. Some zones decide not to go so a second is added from the bigger zones.
You are correct except that last year Dons 12U did not play 12U at EC Cup.
Last year the first ODP tryouts for SoPac zone occurred in mid September, second one was mid November. This year the USA WP website has zero ODP events listed at this time.
Does anyone know when the ODP tryouts are, or have we evolved to where the selection will be made without a tryout?
Is there a plan to disseminate the dates to the general public via the USA WP website? Thanks for sharing the information here!!
Seems logical that with boys HS season going the people involved are probably very busy.

Spa league fall schedule
Is the shores team in the spa SD shores or LB shores? Does anyone have the CCA zone teams?
Typically Shore is LB. Shores is SD. Or i am just wrong which is often.

Nothing - EC tournament will tell more.
Back to school won’t show much, La premier, shore scar ( PV and Long Beach shores I believe) and north Irvine. We will see what ORWP and Trojan bring, but I think ORWP aged up everyone from last year and Trojan has been loosing talent to other clubs as of late, correct me if I’m wrong.
North Irvine would generally be the best team in 12U at this early tournament. Will be interesting to see if ORWP gives them any trouble at all tomorrow.
